
Spring training 2014 has started for the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack baseball team.
The Pack won their opening game of their training season with a 1-0 victory over a club team from the University of Arizona.

Regan Gillis (RHP, Fort McMurray,AB) pitched two innings and was the winning pitcher. He surrendered one hit and one run.
Five WolfPack pitchers combined for a three hit shutout with 10 strikeouts.

Alex Reid (RHP, Kamloops, BC), who is expected to be the ace of the rotation this spring struck out five in two innings of work.

Offensively, TRU was led by first year players Jay Huggins (Infielder, Nanaimo, BC) and John Young (catcher, Fort McMurray, BC).

Both were one for one at the plate. Young had a double and a run scored while Huggins had a run batted in.
TRU continues their exhibition campaign on Sunday (Feb 16) with a game against Mesa Community College in Mesa, Arizona.
The WolfPack don’t play at home until Friday March 21` st when they host the Vancouver Island Baseball Institute at Norbrock Stadium.
