KAMLOOPS – Tight defence and timely scoring led the Thompson Rivers WolfPack men's basketball team to their third win of the season in a 69-63 triumph over the Fraser Valley Cascades in Abbotsford.
A tight match throughout, the WolfPack outscored Fraser Valley 20-9 in the fourth quarter. The 'Pack, who boast one of the toughest defences in the Canada West conference, limited the Cascades to shooting just 3-19 from the floor as a team in the final ten minutes of play.

Brad King had another big night. The third-year post finished with 24 points and 14 rebounds while going 5-8 from beyond-the-arc.
Simon Crossfield and
Brendan Sullivan both also hit double-digits for the 'Pack, finishing with 17 and 10 points respectively.
Kyle Clagget scored 14 with Vick Toor and Jordyn Sekhon adding 13 and 10 for the Cascades.
A tight game through three quarters with a score 54-49 in favour of Fraser Valley, it was all WolfPack down the stretch.
Starting the frame on an 11-2 run kickstarted by eight points from Crossfield, the 'Pack took the lead at 57-56 with six minutes left to play and never looked back. King had an important four rebounds late in the game as the WolfPack were able to grind out the victory.
The win moves the 'Pack to 3-2 on the season while dropping the Cascades to 2-3 as the teams begin to jockey for playoff positioning in what promises to be an incredibly close West Division of Canada West basketball.
