KAMLOOPS – In what was their lone game of the weekend the Thompson Rivers WolfPack women's basketball team were unable to hang with the Trinity Western Spartans in a 79-45 loss on the road.
The Spartans led wire-to-wire on the night, powered by a stifling defensive effort that held the 'Pack to their second-lowest point total of the year. Trinity Western knocked down nearly half of the shots they attempted on the night, holding a 48.5 per cent to 24.6 per cent advantage between the two teams.
Rookie
Elana Sireni once again led the WolfPack's offence, finishing with 11 points on the night.
Priyanca Sundher had by far the most impactful game of her U SPORTS career, scoring 10 points and going 2-4 from beyond-the-arc in just 10 minutes of action.
Nicole Fransson, Jolene Vlieg and Hailey Van Roekel had 14, 12 and 11 points to send the Spartans to victory. As a team Trinity Western knocked down 40 per cent of the 15 three-point shots they attempted and also grabbed 56 rebounds to the WolfPack's 33.
The result drops the WolfPack to 1-10 on the year while the Spartans climb to 9-1.

Ken Olynyk and the WolfPack is a trip to Vancouver where they will face the 3-7 UBC Thunderbirds January 21-22.
