UBCO led wire-to-wire in the contest, holding the lead for 38 minutes of the 40 minute game.

Four players cracked double-digit points for TRU. The hosts were led by Denys Bachurin with 14 points, Evan Smith with 13, rookie Cyrus Harrison had 12 and Asher Mayan 11.

Jalen Shirley had 22 points for UBCO, captain Gus Goerzen added 17 while Elan Kimpton-Cuellar and Hafith Moallin added 10 apiece.

The WolfPack kept pace with the Heat in a high-flying first quarter. TRU shot 66.7 per cent from the floor as a team in the frame and Bachurin and Smith both scored seven points as the 'Pack trailed by just three, 25-22, after the opening 10 minutes.

Things remained close after the second quarter before the Heat blew things wide open in the third. UBCO started the second half on a 17-8 run to stretch their lead to a 17-point margin. From there the Heat wouldn't look back as they sailed away from TRU to pick up the weekend sweep.

TRU (0-4) will look for their first win of the season next weekend when they head to Alberta for a pair of games against the Lethbridge Pronghorns.
