KAMLOOPS – The Thompson Rivers WolfPack men's basketball team started their 2022-23 campaign with a loss on the road after the Winnipeg Wesmen pulled away for an 84-49 victory.
The Wesmen had the hot shooting hand on the net, knocking down 31 of their 71 attempts from the floor as a team while limiting TRU to 19-51. Depth in scoring was key for Winnipeg with their bench outscoring TRU's by a total of 49-5.
Daniel Bost, Asher Mayan and Denys Bachurin all had 11 points for the 'Pack while Simon Crossfield knocked down three of his four attempts from beyond-the-arc.
After leading by just six points after the first quarter the Wesmen blew the game wide open in the second and third quarters where they outscored the 'Pack 49-23.
TRU will look to rebound and get into the win column for the first time tomorrow when they take on the Wesmen at 3:00 p.m. PT.
