KAMLOOPS – They took a perennial power down to the very last shot of the game but the Thompson Rivers WolfPack men's basketball team came up on the wrong side of a 79-77 scoreline against the Calgary Dinos out on the road.
Trailing by two points with just twenty seconds left to play,
Daniel Bost drew an offensive foul to give the WolfPack the ball and chance to either win the game or send it to overtime.
Denys Bachurin put up a three-point shot with just seconds remaining, his effort bounced off the rim where
Cyrus Harrison rose above a trio of Calgary defenders to tip the rebound back towards the hoop but his acrobatic attempt fell just wide.
The loss was the third time this season that TRU has fallen by five points or less as a resilient WolfPack squad continues to fight their way into games time and time again.
Harrison went 9-18 from the floor to tally 21 points and also added 10 rebounds for the double-double.
Asher Mayan, returning from injury to play just his second game of the season, added 16 points and Ukrainian post Bachurin put up 12.
The 'Pack (3-7) will look to get back to winning ways when they travel to Kelowna next weekend to face the UBC Okanagan Heat (2-10).
