Jordan Fulljames

Men's Volleyball TRU WolfPack

College transfer Fulljames fulfills lifelong goal with commitment to the 'Pack

KAMLOOPS – The Thompson Rivers WolfPack men's volleyball team and head coach Pat Hennelly have returned to fruitful recruiting grounds with their most recent commitment as Prince George's Jordan Fulljames is set to join the team for the 2025-26 season.

Joining the 'Pack after two years playing with Camosun College, Fulljames is a 6-3 outside hitter that will add a veteran presence to the squad.

"Jordan has been a player on our radar since high school," said Hennelly. "He has taken the two years at college to really develop physically and technically."

The product of Prince George is the latest in long line of standout players from BC's Northern Capital to join the 'Pack. From Tim Flannigan and Graham Allard in TRU's inaugural season at the U SPORTS level in 2005-06 to 2013-14 U SPORTS Outstanding Student-Athlete award winner Colin Carson, TRU has a long history of success with players from the city.

Playing for longtime club coach Dan Drezet as part of the Prince George Youth Volleyball Club Kodiaks, Fulljames' first real look at university volleyball came during the WolfPack's annual summer camps that they run in Prince George.

"The very first time that I fell in love with volleyball was watching the TRU guys at those camps," said Fulljames. "As a kid I would watch the WolfPack players and they were my volleyball idols. It's a surreal experience to even be here and keep building on the legacy that I think keeps Pat coming back to Prince George. It's such a unique opportunity to give guys like me a chance when we haven't had a whole lot of exposure to the sport. I think Prince George guys have built up a pretty good reputation that we are going to come here and work hard and I hope that continues because it means so much to me and my community."

At Camosun College for the past three years, a shoulder injury forced Fulljames to redshirt during his first season when Camosun captured the 2022-23 CCAA National Championship.

"I was pretty raw coming out of high school," said Fulljames. "Coming from a northern community there weren't a lot of opportunities up there so when I moved down to Victoria that was my first real exposure to technical work every single day. That was a great year for my development, we won a national championship in my first year and it was pretty cool to just be a part of that culture."

With plenty of roster turnover after that championship season, Fulljames has grown both on and off the court to become a leader for the Chargers.

"We had a new coach and a really young team so for me for my personal growth the last two years is really where I figured myself out, who I want to be and how I want to train," said Fulljames. "My goal has always been to get better and better and that's even why I'm transferring now, it's part of my journey to getting to be the best athlete that I can be."

Earning a spot as a starter for a Chargers team that has made back-to-back postseason appearances, Fulljames has evolved his game to suit his team's needs.

"My physical skills have developed, I'm pretty undersized for volleyball so I've learned how to hit the weight room and up my physicality to a point where it's a strength for me," said Fulljames. "The last two years have been amazing for me in growing both physically and mentally."

Despite his success at the collegiate level, Fulljames has always had his sights set on doing whatever necessary to join TRU.

"Since day one, I've had my heart set on playing not just in the Canada West but specifically for TRU," said Fulljames. "I always knew that I wanted to use college as a pathway to the university level. I think a lot of guys when they get to college get focused on wanting to be the star but I looked at it from a different approach, I knew that I needed to refine my skills and work hard in the gym. It wasn't so much about being a star but being ready to perform when I got the chance at a higher level."

Fulljames points to program's culture built by Hennelly as a contributing factor for his commitment to the 'Pack.

"The fact that I know this program pursues excellence the way that I see excellence. Pat has always been a straightforward guy and when you have a coach that will look you in the eye and tell you what you need to do to get better, that's a blessing to me. The history and culture of excellence in this program is special and that's been driven by Pat, that's a huge reason I'm here. TRU is very unique in that it has always been a scrappy team that has had to work hard and that reflects how I want to be as well. TRU has always been my number one option."

Fulljames is a Dean's list student planning to pursue a psychology degree at TRU and there can be no doubt that Hennelly is looking forward to having him join the fold for next season and beyond.

"We think Jordan not only adds to our potential on the court but also the culture of the team,' said Hennelly. "I can't think of a more perfect recruit for our program than Jordan Fulljames."
