JUSTIN KING: CIS PLAYER OF WEEK (first Pack player since 2009)

Snucins) (Andrew Snucins photo)  Basketball players Hannah Sunley-Paisley from the University of Ottawa and  King are the CIS female and male athletes of the week for the period ending Nov. 27, 2011. Sunley-Paisley, a fifth-year arts student from Toronto, recorded back-to-back double-doubles last weekend as she led the Gee-Gees (4-2) to a pair of road wins over Lakehead, 63-52, and Guelph, 68-58. The 6-foot-1 centre opened the two-game set on Friday with 21 points and 13 rebounds against the Thunderwolves and followed up with a 30-point, 14-board effort Saturday night against the Gryphons. The two-time all-Canadian currently ranks second in the country in both scoring (22.2 ppg) and rebounding (11.3 rpg). Saint Mary's volleyball player Anastasia Callaghan, Carleton hockey player Tamber Tisdale and Calgary basketball player Jenna Kaye were also nominated for the women's award. Snucins) Justin King vs UNBC (Andrew Snucins photo) King, a third-year tourism student from Las Vegas, Nev., exploded for 71 points in 71 minutes of court time as the WolfPack evened their season record to 4-4 with a 91-84 win over Brandon and a 110-100 defeat of Regina. The 6-foot-4 guard led all players on the court in both contests scoring 36 points in 36 minutes on Friday against the Bobcats and 35 in 35 minutes Saturday versus the Cougars. King, a transfer student from Skagit Valley Junior College in Washington State, leads CIS in scoring going into the December break with 26.9 points per game and ranks fourth in rebounding with 10.6 boards per outing.
