The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack women's basketball team learned a lesson on keeping the lead.
The WolfPack dropped a five point decision to the PACWEST Douglas College Royals on Friday (Oct 11). The score was 65-60.
The Pack were up 35-22 at the half.
Emma Piggin (5
th year, guard, Kamloops, BC) fouled out in the third quarter. " We missed a lot of free throws (11) and a lot of open three point shots," said TRU head coach
Goran Nogic. " We had a big problem in defending penetration as well as securing defensive rebounds."
Piggin had eight points in the contest.
Jordon Haggerty (3
rd year, guard, Saskatoon, SK) had 18 points for Thompson Rivers.
Leilani Carney (5
th year, guard, Burnaby, BC) had 13 points.
The WolfPack will play another PACWEST team on Saturday (Oct 12) as they visit the Capilano University Blues in North Vancouver, BC.
The Pack have two final pre season games next weekend in Abbotsford, BC against the University of Fraser Valley Cascades. Their Canada West home opener is November 1
st at the Tournament Capital Centre against the Trinity Western University Spartans.
