For the first time this pre season, the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack women's basketball team is into the win column.
The Pack downed the Capilano University Blues of North Vancouver (PACWEST) 71-59.
Thompson Rivers was led by
Emma Piggin (5
th year, guard, Kamloops, BC) with 19 points.
Leilani Carney (5
th year, guard, Vancouver, BC) had 15 as did
Brooklyn Golt (2
nd year, center, Langley, BC).
Golt also had 17 rebounds. Piggin had nine rebounds and seven steals.
Jordon Haggarty (3
rd year, guard, Saskatoon, SK) and
Jordin Wilkinson (4
th year, guard, North Battleford, SK) chipped in with eight points.
Courtney Sampson (2
nd year, forward, Edmonton, AB) had five steals

Goran Nogic afterwards, " We played tired but managed to react. Brooklyn played very very well. We shot better than we did yesterday(a five point loss to Douglas College on Friday Oct 11)."
The WolfPack close out their exhibition season with games next week (Oct 18-19) in Abbotsford, BC against the University of Fraser Valley. Thompson Rivers opens up its 2019-20 Canada West regular season at home on Friday November 1
st against the Trinity Western University Spartans. Tip off at the Tournament Capital Centre will be 5 pm.
