KAMLOOPS – For the second game in a row the Thompson Rivers WolfPack men's basketball team faded down the stretch as they fell 94-78 at the hands of the Trinity Western Spartans in Langley.
With the teams separated by just five points heading into the final quarter, TWU's defence clamped down and limited the WolfPack to just 13 points en route to pulling away for the 16-point victory.
Brad King rounded out his strong weekend with the product of Dromana, Australia scoring a game-high 23 points and also grabbing 13 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season.
Brendan Sullivan shot 50 per cent from the floor to finish with 17 points while
Asher Mayan chipped in with 14 points and seven rebounds.
Six players for the Spartans finished with double-digit efforts, led by Ja'Qualyn Gilbreath who had 22 points and 12 rebounds.
The WolfPack led the game as late as two minutes left to go in the third quarter, but a fourth quarter where they went just 5-15 from the floor and 1-9 from beyond-the-arc allowed the Spartans to regain the lead and never look back.
With the loss the WolfPack fall to 4-6 on the season. They'll get the chance to pick up their first win of the second semester next weekend when they head to Vancouver to take on the UBC Thunderbirds.
