Weekend Story
KAMLOOPS – The Thompson Rivers WolfPack women's basketball team will take to the court one final time in the 2022-23 season this weekend, when they host the Manitoba Bisons inside the TCC.
With tip-off slated for 5:30 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday, TRU (2-16) will take on a Bisons (4-14) squad in a pair of clashes that will see both teams trying to end their year on a high-note.
A young WolfPack squad earned a big result in Prince George last weekend, splitting two games against the UNBC Timberwolves.
Makeba Taylor poured in 18 points with
Danijela Kovacevic adding 14 to help lead TRU to their first conference road victory since the 2019-20 season.
Ending her university career after five standout seasons with the 'Pack, Rouault has played in 90 regular season games for TRU, racking up 478 points, 334 rebounds and 103 steals.
Manitoba enters the weekend after a pair of close losses. In two games against their cross-town rivals the Bisons were narrowly defeated by scores of 85-74 in overtime on Friday and 65-56 on Saturday by the Winnipeg Wesmen.
TRU is 5-7 all-time in Canada West play against the Bisons. The last regular season meeting between the two came in 2018-19.
By The Numbers
103: Rouault's 103 career steals are good enough for eighth in the WolfPack record books.
18: Taylor's 18 points on Friday night were the most she's tallied in her young WolfPack career.
2.2: Danijela Kovacevic's mark of 2.2 steals-per-game this season is the ninth-best mark put up by a member of the 'Pack since TRU joined Canada West.
