Weekend Story
KAMLOOPS – The Thompson Rivers WolfPack men's soccer team will be back in Hillside Stadium this weekend as they are set to host a pair of Prairie Division foes.
With games on Friday and Saturday – both at 7:00 p.m. - the back-to-back home games will see the 1-3-0 'Pack face the MacEwan Griffins (0-3-1) and the Mount Royal Cougars (1-0-4).
The Kamloops Kia Tailgate will take kick off the weekend! Friday night at 6 p.m. there will be a BBQ by donation – with proceeds going to the men's soccer team – as well as games, face painting and pictures with Wolfie.
TRU will enter the weekend fresh off of a bye. The 'Pack split their last weekend with an impressive win over Trinity Western followed by a narrow defeat at the hands of the UFV Cascades.
Lachlan Will burst onto the scene in the WolfPack's last games with two goals against TWU.
Searching for their first win of the year, the Griffins picked up a key draw with Mount Royal just last weekend – holding the Cougars to a 1-1 tie.
On Saturday the 'Pack will face familiar foe in the form of the Cougars. The reigning CW Champions, MRU has struggled to put opponents away so far this season en route to their mark of 1-0-4. The Cougars tied both MacEwan and the Alberta Golden Bears 1-1 last weekend.
TRU and the Griffins have met just three times in Canada West play since 2016 with the 'Pack holding a record of 1-0-2. That win came last season in Edmonton.
Meanwhile, the WolfPack and Cougars have split their three regular season matches 1-1-1 with TRU taking the only meeting in Kamloops by a score of 4-0 back in 2018.
