Weekend Story
KAMLOOPS – After starting their season with three-straight weeks away from home, the Thompson Rivers WolfPack women's basketball will finally get the chance to play inside the TCC this weekend when they host the TWU Spartans.
Taking on the Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, the games will pit together two teams that are coming off a successful sweep last weekend.
The WolfPack (2-3) travelled to Edmonton and defeated the MacEwan Griffins twice in their last action. It was a pair of Kamloops locals leading the way for TRU as
Kylee Koppes tallied a team-high 17 points in a 60-53 win on Friday before
Morgan Eichenberger took over with 21 points and 19 rebounds in TRU's 57-49 victory on Saturday.
TWU (4-2) meanwhile secured a pair of victories over the UNBC Timberwolves up in Prince George. After taking the first game comfortably 64-51, Saturday's contest came right down to the wire as the Spartans held off UNBC by a score of 55-53.
These teams met three times last season with TWU taking all three games.
