KAMLOOPS – The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack women's basketball team has cemented their coaching positions ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Scott Clark will return as head coach of the program, with Joe Davis joining him as an associate head coach.

We are excited to see him continue the work he started with our women's basketball program this past season," said Atkinson. "We're equally excited to have Joe Davis joining as associate head coach—his energy, insight, and passion for the sport will be a tremendous asset to our program. Joe cares deeply about Kamloops and TRU and we know our student-athletes will benefit from his basketball experience. We are confident that Scott and Joe will provide the leadership required to guide our student-athletes to success on and off the court."
Taking over as head coach on an interim basis this past December, Clark has a storied history as a leader of the 'Pack. Clark was the as head coach of the TRU men's basketball program for 13 seasons from 2010-2023.
During his time with the men's program, Clark led the WolfPack to a U SPORTS Final 8 appearance in 2015-16, earned a postseason berth in seven of eight seasons from 2013-14 to 2021-22 and had 36 student-athletes achieve U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian status.
Moving to a role as the WolfPack's manager, high performance sport in 2023, Clark has spent the past two years working closely with coaches, student-athletes and performance staff to help eliminate barriers to success and identify new resources to support team performance.
After returning to the bench with the 'Pack in December, Clark led the WolfPack to a 73-61 victory over the UNBC Timberwolves in the team's final home game of the season.
Prior to joining TRU, Clark was the head coach of the men's basketball program at Simon Fraser University from 1995 – 2010. During his time with SFU, he won 59 regular season NAIA games and 113 Canada West conference contests.
"I'm excited to continue moving the program forward," said Clark. "Having Joe join our program is a great chance for the student-athletes to continue to grow and learn both on and off the court.
One of the all-time greats as a player for the 'Pack, Davis is a Kamloops local who now returns to his hometown as associate head coach of the WolfPack women's basketball team.
Playing for TRU from 2014-20, Davis holds the men's basketball program record with 1154 career U SPORTS points and was a Canada West Second Team All-Star in 2019-20.
At the conclusion of his university playing career, Davis spent one-and-a-half years as an assistant coach with Clark for the men's basketball program.
After leaving the 'Pack, Davis has spent time playing professionally in both Australia and Malta. During his time in Australia he was also the director of coaching for the Pakenham Warriors basketball club.
"I cannot overstate how much the Kamloops and TRU community mean to me. I'm grateful for the support and guidance the community has provided me over the years. I'm a product of this community and want to contribute and give back as much as possible," said Davis. "I've been learning from Coach Clark for over 10 years, and I am still learning from him. I feel both thankful and lucky to work closely with such a great leader."
The WolfPack's 2025-26 Canada West regular season schedule will be released in June.
