KAMLOOPS – The Thompson Rivers WolfPack men's volleyball team will head to familiar grounds away from home this coming weekend as they are set to host a pair of exhibition games in Prince George.
TRU and the Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves will play Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the CNC Gym and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the UNBC gym.
"Great to be headed back to Prince George," said WolfPack head coach
Pat Hennelly. "Whenever we play there it feels like a home game with lots of support and WolfPack gear in the stands."
The WolfPack have played in Prince George five times previously with the most recent being a pair of matches against the MacEwan Griffins in 2023-24. Alongside those matches, the 'Pack are familiar faces in Prince George as they have run an annual Summer Camp for the past 19 years, including just weeks ago this past August.
"We had another well attended camp this year and those connections have been an important part of our program," said Hennelly.
The WolfPack will feature a new Prince George talent on the roster this year after
Jordan Fulljames transferred to the 'Pack from the Camosun Chargers in the Summer.
"Fulljames joins some pretty good alumni who have played for TRU in the past in Graham Allard and Tim Flannigan from Shas Ti Kelly Road Secondary, Jordan Foot and Nic Balazs from DP Todd as well as Colin Carson from Duchess Park," said Hennelly.
It's those deep roots between the WolfPack and Prince George that keeps the 'Pack returning year after year according to Hennelly.
"We have some longstanding and proud connections with Prince George Volleyball Club," said Hennelly. "Thanks to Dan Drezet, Kim Forrest and Hali Drezet who are instrumental in organizing the camps and these exhibitions."
