Andulajevic earns spot with Team Canada for Volleyball Nations League

KAMLOOPS – Olivia Andulajevic has made a massive step on the journey to representing Canada at the international level with the announcement that she has been selected to the Canadian National Team roster for the Quebec City tournament of the 2026 Volleyball Nations League.

Originally named to the 30-player wide roster, the libero - who has suited up for the WolfPack for the past four seasons - is in the running to make the senior national team for any of the four tournaments in the Volleyball Nations League taking place this Summer. This past Friday, the dream of representing Canada was made even more real when she made the travelling roster for the first VNL tournament of 2026 taking place this week from June 3-7 in Quebec City.

"She's one of a group of student-athletes who came into the program and just couldn't get enough," said WolfPack head coach Chad Grimm. "Every individual practice she was at for way too long at some points, we had to start restricting Olivia from the gym because she would be out there for two hours before practice. Obviously, that's great for the culture of the team, of people wanting to get better. But she took that up a notch and has always been one seeking to get better and better."

Canada, currently ranked eighth in the world, will compete at the top level of international play with tournaments scheduled for Quebec City, Bangkok, and Hong Kong throughout June and July with the championship tournament taking place in Macao in late July.

One of just four liberos named to the wide roster, Andulajevic has been a starter in all four of her years with TRU and has racked up 965 digs (second most in program history) in her 324 sets played (fourth most in program history).

This past season the product of Victoria was named the Canada West Libero of the Year as well as the WolfPack Sports Task Force Female Athlete of the Year after leading TRU to an historic season that saw them advance all the way to the U SPORTS National Championship tournament for the first time in program history.

"She tried out last year and was unsuccessful and I think that kind of further stoked a fire because she felt she was like close and was in the conversation," said Grimm. "I think this year obviously gave her some confidence, getting CW Libero of the Year and the team being more successful. I know she said when she went to the tryouts she was more confident and wasn't overthinking things as much and just kind of was able to perform to her abilities."

The tryout process to reach this stage has been a lengthy one for Andulajevic. She first battled for a spot with Canada's NextGen program where her play impressed to the point that she has spent the last month weeks training with the senior national team in Richmond, B.C.

"When you start as a club player or a little kid you always have these hopes of representing your country," said Grimm. "It's difficult as a libero, there's a huge group of girls vying for these positions and it's just great to see Olivia kind of make a name for herself and earn this right to compete with the best of the best."

With a spot on the roster, Andulajevic becomes the first player in WolfPack women's volleyball history to progress to this stage in the journey to suit up for Team Canada at the highest level possible.

"I'm excited for her to be able to keep growing, find different resources, learn different things and compete with different players," said Grimm. "She's going to be able to bring that back to us and help us all get better as well. I'm really excited for her to get this chance and to test herself against the best of the best."
