WSOC tie UBCO in final home match

The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack finished the home portion of their 2019-20 Canada West women's soccer season with a draw.
The Pack and the University of British Columbia Okanagan Heat played to a 1-1 draw on the Warner Rentals Court at Hillside Stadium in Kamloops, BC.
After a scoreless first half, the teams exchanged goals in the second half. TRU was threatening to get the winning goal as time ran out.
Chantal Gammie and Yvonne Manwaring were the respective goal scorers. Thompson Rivers moves to 2-6-4 while UBCO is 1-10-1.

 SYNOPSIS
The WolfPack dominated the first 16 minutes as they peppered UBCO keeper Emma Terrillion (2nd, North Vancouver, BC).   Terrillion was injured following a scramble off a TRU corner kick. She was replaced by Iona Lawson (2nd year, Calgary, AB).   After the change, it was the Heat who started to take momentum.  The Pack had t0 shots in the first half compared to only one for UBCO. That one shot though, was on goal and TRU keeper Danielle Robertson (3rd year, Courtenay, BC).

Thompson Rivers got on the board at 48:57 as Natalie Verdiel (5th year, defender, Powell River, BC) took a free kick and knocked it deep on the left side of the field where Chantal Gammie (2nd year, forward, Smithers, BC) received it and shot a low ball which skirted the post and went in.  Gammie's second goal of the year.

The Heat get the equalizer in the 76th minute as Kamloops native Yvonne Manwaring (1st year, forward) got a through ball form Erica Lampert and got a breakaway. She went high left side on Robertson for her first ever Canada West goal.

.The WolfPack outshot UBCO 17-5 with 7 shots in the second half compared to four for the Heat.  Poack had four shots in the second half to wind up with seven in match compared to five shots for UBCO (four of them in the second 45 minutes).  TRU had eight corner kicks (3 in the second half) to UBCO's four second half corners.
